The Lumber Exchange Building was constructed in 1885.  Located at the corner of Hennepin Avenue and 5th Street (map), it is the oldest high-rise building standing in Minneapolis.  

This postcard is probably around 100 years old. Note the trolleys! The current Metro Transit goes right along 5th Street.
